The Birds & Bees |

The Birds & Bees, a solo exhibition, was part of Nevada Museum of Art’s Nevada Triennial. The Nevada Triennial was organized to include both an open call for Nevada artists (a regional-juried exhibition) as well as an invitational component to give the show a greater depth. Nevada Museum of Art cutorial staff, Steven High and Diane Deming, invited the four Nevada-based artists to have a solo exhibition for the invitational component. It was a great honor for me to be one of the four artists selected. Toby Kamps, Director of the Institute of Contemporary Art at Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine was the juror for the Nevada Triennial. Ironically, I entered my artwork into the juried component of this exhibition and was rejected by Toby Kamps. Although rejection is always disappointing, as a seasoned professional, it goes with the territory and I have grown a relativity thick skin and take no offense. So, imagine my surprise when Steven High and Diane Deming invited me, one of the rejects, to be one of the four people granted a solo show! |
